Cluster Lead, Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change, UNDP
Armen has over 20 years of experience in UN system on DRR at country, regional and global levels. Armen has extensively worked on UNDP-led inter-agency initiative – CADRI: Capacity for Disaster Reduction Initiative. His technical focus is on Disaster Risk Management, Disaster Preparedness, Disaster Recovery, Humanitarian Assistance, Disaster Assessments, Capacity Development for Disaster Risk Reduction, Conflict, Disaster Interface, Climate Change Action, Climate Change Adaptation, and SDGs. Armen’s work includes, but is not limited to global and regional policy on DRR, development and management of regional programmes on DRR with number of other specific sectors (technology, sustainable development, poverty, health, education, etc.), technical support to national and transboundary DRR work.
Armen is a certified and active member of UNDAC: United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination, and is UNDP’s focal point for it, as well as active member of the UNDP Learning Network and an invited lecturer of the Crisis Management Academy in Armenia.
