Emily Boyd is the Director of the LUCSUS at Lund University since 2016. She also serves as professor.
Emily Boyd is a leading social scientist with a background in development and human geography and long-standing engagement with sustainability science.
Her unique focus has been on the interdisciplinary nexus of poverty, livelihoods and resilience in relation to politics of global environmental change. She has a unique ability to apply local level research while also engaging with international policy level processes such as the UNFCCC.
Her work has been published across the social and sustainability sciences with notable publications on resilience, adaptation and development transitions in the context of climate change. She was lead author in the IPBES regional assessments on biodiversity and ecosystem services and will be a lead author in the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report.
